[Sickly, dark-hearted beauty x scum gong who falls for him on his own]
Also known as: "A HE with the Scum Gong in the Shou's Body"
Wang Yan was born frail, his sickly body like thin ice in early spring, ready to shatter with the slightest breeze.
Fortunately, he was born into the Langya Wang clan. His grandfather held the high office of chancellor, and Wang Yan was raised in wealth and luxury. He spent his days at elegant gatherings, drinking by winding streams, discussing philosophy, and composing poetry, becoming a noble young gentleman eagerly pursued by the sons of the scholarly elite.
It was only after falling into the water and regaining his memories that he realized he had transmigrated into a book.
It was a rebirth novel about a character adored by everyone.
The protagonist, Xie Shu, was born a brilliant general. In his previous life, he conquered the realm for the scum gong, only to meet a grisly end after being betrayed. Reborn, he carefully planned his every move and ultimately killed the scum gong with his own hands.
The bad news: He, Wang Yan, had transmigrated into the role of that disposable scum gong.
The worse news: Judging by the timing, the protagonist shou had already been reborn.
Wang Yan: ...
Got it. This is the part where I win the protagonist over, right?

Treat others as you would like to be treated, move them with sincerity, melt their hatred with wholehearted devotion, and ultimately turn an enemy into an ally and defy fate. Wang Yan knew this plotline all too well. It was everywhere in the novels he had read in his previous life.
He hadn't planned on going down that route.
Wouldn't it be better to nip a threat in the bud and stamp it out completely?
Wang Yan coughed twice, leaning against the edge of the couch as he lowered his eyes to look at Xie Shu kneeling before him.
The young man's back was ramrod straight, his features as cold as frost. His posture was deferential, yet he was like an unparalleled blade sheathed and waiting, his edge concealed but his chill unmistakable.
The realm was collapsing, the court had fled south, and the north had become a battlefield where foreign tribes slaughtered one another. Meanwhile, the southern literati indulged in wine, women, and song, living in a drunken haze.
...Both he and this realm were in need of a fine blade.
Wang Yan changed his mind.
Wasn't it enough to keep Xie Shu by his side, turn fate around, and keep him under control?
His sickly body might have little strength, but he had plenty of ways to get what he wanted.

Gong's perspective:
The original scum gong, "Wang Yan," has been reborn.
He once conquered the realm and ascended the throne, only to die coughing up blood. When he opened his eyes again, he had been reborn in the body of Xie Shu, the man he had used until death.
Meanwhile, his original body had been taken over by another soul.
That person lived in his frail, ruined body, the very one he had once despised and blamed fate for giving him, yet managed to live a life he had never imagined.
At first, he watched coldly from the sidelines, regarding that person with pity and disdain as they clashed at every turn.
Later, frustration and longing burned at his heart day and night, making his very blood and bones run hot.
Until at last, he knelt on one knee, lifted that person's cold fingertips, and pressed a burning kiss to them.
"I am willing to be the blade in Your Highness's hand."
"And I am willing... to be the dog at Your Highness's bedside."

#What do I do if the protagonist shou turns into a scum gong halfway through the taming? Help!#
Reader's guide:
1. The characters use the names of their bodies. Wang Yan is the shou, and Xie Shu is the gong.
2. The shou is adored by everyone (only the shou!), no side couples, 1v1 HE.
3. The gong only used the original-book shou and had no feelings for him! They never had any physical contact!
