[Proud Sword Sovereign heroine × gloomy, obsessive Demon Lord; secret identity revealed, chasing his wife, and rekindling an old romance]
As a once-in-a-millennium sword genius in the cultivation world, Jiang Miao led a quiet life, never once stirred by a ripple.
Everyone knew her. They called her an immortal revered in the celestial mountains, a goddess untouched by worldly concerns, a clay figure without love or feeling.
Until one day, during a mission, she wandered into a mysterious cave and rescued a bewitchingly handsome snake demon.
She knew nothing of love and cared only for cultivation, but for the first time, her heart stirred.
She did everything she could to keep him by her side. They lived peacefully together for nearly a hundred years, until one day disaster struck: the Heavenly Dao collapsed, and the demons invaded.
The person who appeared amid the blood mist was the very man she had spent a century with, day and night.
Without a moment’s hesitation, she drew her sword, ran him through the heart, and cast him into a bottomless abyss.
Her swift, decisive move left everyone drenched in a cold sweat.
In private, they spat that she was a bloodthirsty fiend who reveled in killing. To her face, they had no choice but to respectfully call her the Hongmiao Sword Sovereign.
A century later, she was hunted by her fellow righteous cultivators.
An old senior brother produced old letters and accused her of secretly exchanging letters with the Demon Lord, a betrayal of the Heavenly Dao and all human decency.
She fought her way out, but had nowhere to go. She could only make her way alone to the demon lair and beg her former lover to take her in.

He was a Qiu Chi who had wandered into the human world.
As far back as he could remember, he had been locked in a cage.
He could not take human form. Scales covered his skin, and where his legs should have been, he had only a tail.
Neither human nor demon, he lived as an exhibit, displayed for others to admire and sold to the highest bidder.
So when she cut the chains from his body and tenderly cupped his face, his tail wrapped around her ankle of its own accord, though he still didn’t understand love.
She had given him everything: his name, his identity, his life. So his heart beat only for her.
When the sword pierced his chest, he felt no pain.
All he saw was the resolve and coldness in her eyes. Before he could ask why, she pushed him into the bottomless abyss with her own hands.
She was both his savior and the person responsible for his miserable life.
Fate drove them to opposite sides. He crawled out of a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, transforming into the new Demon Lord.
Righteousness and evil stood opposed, as far apart as heaven and earth. There could be no turning back.
Until she appeared at his cave, covered in blood. The cold moon that once shone on the treetop had fallen into the mortal world, battered and disgraced.
She was the first to speak, asking him to remember their old affection and give her a roof over her head.
#The world can talk all it wants about the righteous and demonic paths. I still won’t let go of your hand.
Author’s notes:
① One-on-one, both leads’ first time, happy ending.
② The heroine’s combat ability is top-tier. She won’t be wronged in the slightest. This is not a case of a strong heroine and an even stronger hero; she’s simply passive and clueless when it comes to romance.
③ Long and rambling, with my own take on cultivation. Lots of original worldbuilding, just for fun.
Theme: Never stop striving
