Like something out of a fairy tale, she comes across a handsome Eastern youth who is badly injured. He even offers to pay for her to open a soul-ferry shop, on the condition that she take him in and let him stay by her side.

This was the question Luo Ling finally asked after they'd spent a long time together.
"Because of who I am. My father is an immortal. He fell in love with a demon woman, and they had me. The immortal sects see me as an abomination and a disgrace, and they want me dead."
