A foreign transfer student has arrived at Aoba Johsai.
They say she's a tall, stunning beauty.
The rumor spreads like wildfire. One day, on their way to the volleyball gym after school, Oikawa Toru and Iwaizumi Hajime make a bet: if the transfer student turns out to be a genuine blonde, blue-eyed Westerner, Iwa-chan has to buy Oikawa milk bread for the next month.
But Iwa-chan doesn't curse him out or punch him, despite how outrageous the demand is. Oikawa Toru finds that strange.
The next moment, something even more surprising happens.
Their childhood friend Sumi Sorami, who vanished without a word three years ago, strolls down the stairs, clutching a transfer notice for the third year of high school.
She stands in the sunlight and smiles at them, her golden hair dazzling.
"Well, looks like someone's going to be out of milk bread."
"Don't you think so, Oi-kawa-kun?"
Oikawa Toru: "Help! My little sister, who's two years younger than me, suddenly became my senpai, and she caught me off guard. How am I supposed to defend against this?"
"Your childhood friend tells you to call her senpai. Will you do it? No way in hell!"

Sumi Sorami is a true mathematical genius.
So clever that she skipped grade after grade as a child, she never had any close friends in class.
Luckily, she had two childhood friends, Oikawa Toru and Iwaizumi Hajime, who promised to protect her for the rest of their lives.
Unfortunately, Sumi was the one who broke that promise.
Sumi hates change more than anything, but she was forced to grow up amid one upheaval after another.
Three years after leaving Japan, she reluctantly sets foot on its soil again.
Thankfully, Oikawa hasn't changed much. The boy who once protected her from behind has simply become her junior, always a step below her.
Sumi hopes Oikawa will never change.
No matter who ends up by his side in the future.
Years later, San Martin Square in Buenos Aires is packed with people. Oikawa holds her tightly, making the same solemn promise he did when they were children.
"I'll always have the courage not to let the world change me, as long as I'm with you."
Before you read:
1. One-on-one pairing throughout, with Oikawa. Iwaizumi is a platonic pairing.
2. Aoba Johsai is the main setting, with lots of cozy (?) and chaotic (?) daily life in the Aoba Johsai volleyball club. The high school and adult portions are in a 6:4 ratio.
3. A younger woman pretending to be older, childhood friends reunited as a surprise. There's maybe a little bit of a second-chance romance that isn't quite a second-chance romance. Overall, it's lighthearted and healing.
4. The original plot and ending are respected. Any OOC characterization is my fault.
