Cosplay-transmigration, not into their original bodies
The High-Cloud Quintet cosplayers who transmigrate are:
The Shogun, Yingxing; the gun (Cloud-Piercer), Dan Feng; the sword (Shattered Star), Jingliu; and the naginata (Flamesplitter), Jing Yuan.
Don't ask why Bai Yan isn't here. There's only room for four people on a Star Rail team.
A similar idea to the one next door, but this one is livelier.
Yep, it's the familiar setup: a group of cosplayers transmigrate.
The four cosplayers thought they'd been sent to the Star Rail universe, but it turned out they'd gone to the wrong place, and they weren't even human anymore.
Wait, except for Yingxing, they weren't human to begin with. No, Yingxing is still human.
Human, dragon, whatever. Anyway, they've all turned into tsukumogami, except for Yingxing.
Yingxing: Why didn't I change? Answer: Because you're a swordsmith! (Author's note)
Dan Feng: Poke, poke, poke.
Jingliu: Hit, hit, hit.
Jing Yuan: Gets chased and beaten.
Yingxing: Stop fighting already! You're going to exhaust Master Baizhi.
Yingxing again: Why haven't I manifested my blade? I'd rather be a sword spirit than have to go to that lousy job.
From the Time Government's perspective:
A mysterious sword school suddenly appeared on the timeline, and it wasn't local. The Time Government sent people to make contact, hoping to hire its sword spirits. They discovered that the swordsmith himself was living with the tsukumogami he'd forged.
The Time Government immediately switched to maximum protection mode.
But, sir, times have changed. There may be no Dragon Lord MK2500 here, but there is a big, golden man painstakingly hand-built by Baizhi!
