Qin Ruoheng was the emperor of Qin. One day, after leading her troops to a great victory, she received a gift from the State of Su, sent to curry favor and sue for peace: Yu Zhuoling, a princess of a fallen kingdom.

She knew that the State of Su had recently destroyed a small kingdom called Yu, but had no idea that such a stunning princess had been hidden away there. With her picture-perfect features, bright eyes, pearly teeth, and breathtaking beauty, the princess was a gift Qin Ruoheng couldn’t help but like. She couldn’t resist taking her back with her.

The princess had fallen into Qin Ruoheng’s hands, the enemy who had caused her a blood feud. She expected nothing from this ruler, who was skilled in conquest. She thought that even as a woman, Qin Ruoheng could be no better than the ruler of Su: cruel and ruthless, sure to make her suffer.

But she never expected that just days after being brought to Qin, Qin Ruoheng would argue fiercely with her ministers and overrule them all to make her a consort. She even promised her fine clothes, delicious food, wealth, and status, and made sure no one else could bully or mock her. Qin Ruoheng treated her so, so well, far better than those beasts in fine robes from Su.

Yu Zhuoling knew that with her frail body, she would never be able to avenge her country in her lifetime. So she began to make the most of every chance to please Qin Ruoheng, coaxing her into taking revenge for her. Once her revenge was complete, she would belong to Qin Ruoheng, body and soul.

Qin Ruoheng fell for her beauty. Even knowing she was being used, she couldn’t help indulging her and giving in to her, unable to bear seeing her sad or upset.

You can have your revenge. You can save your family too. But if they come asking Me to hand you over, there’s no chance.

Lingling is a pampered jade, and only I can raise her right.

Both are each other’s one and only. The top has no wife but the bottom.
