The Minazuki family is a family of doctors living at the foot of a mountain in Tokyo Prefecture. The mother of Minazuki Aki and Minazuki Arashi is a doctor. Their father is Minazuki Iwabi, the older brother of Ubuyashiki Amane, who was ten years older than her before she married.
Minazuki Iwabi did not inherit the family's religious duties. Instead, he traveled far and wide as a member of the Demon Slayer Corps when he was young. He eventually lost his right arm in battle, retired, got married, and had two children, Arashi and Aki.
The siblings are three years apart. Arashi, the older brother, inherited his father's build from a young age. At ten, he followed his father around, learning all kinds of sword techniques. His younger sister Aki, seven years old, learned about medicinal herbs from their mother.
