Nothing Good Happens When I Meet You

I abandoned my old project, Jiu Niang, from several years ago. It's been so long since I updated it that I can't remember where the plot was going, so I had to drop it. I've reworked the idea into another story, with Zhan Mu and Xiao Bai as the main characters, though their characterization will change. To avoid abandoning this one too, I'll finish writing the whole thing before publishing. If you're interested, feel free to bookmark it first.

[Blurb]

Zhan Mu, a college sophomore, comes across a girl being bullied near her university. The victim is exactly her type, so she steps in and beats up the bullies... only to discover that the girl she just beat up is even more precisely her type, and has hit her right in the heart.

They unexpectedly meet again in the drama club. Bai Juyi raises her right hand, which is in a cast, and smiles beautifully and icily. "Thanks for looking out for me, senior."

Zhan Mu decides that junior Xiao Bai bullies the weak and has an ambiguous relationship with an infamous rich heiress. She practically has the word "contempt" written across her forehead and treats her with utter indifference. Yet every night, Zhan Mu seems to become a different person, pestering her for all sorts of inexplicable reasons. Bai Juyi only finds out later that Zhan Mu really does turn into someone else at night.

Later...

One by one, all their misunderstandings melt away like thin ice in the warmth of the sun. To Bai Juyi's horror, the Xiao Zhan senior who used to bother her only at night turns out to be utterly elusive, pestering her relentlessly day and night.

Later still...

Zhan Mu thought she'd have a happy life once she won over junior Xiao Bai, but she never expected that the real trials were only just beginning... All sorts of fantastical things happen in the drama club.

Just to be clear: the fantasy elements aren't scary.

Theme: In a fantastical world of plays within plays, the red thread of fate binds them across past and present lives. They weather storms and endure countless twists and hardships, until at last they return to ordinary life and walk together through the long years.
