Lin Huai doesn't believe it, but she still works herself to the bone writing papers as a ghostwriter for the rich young masters and ladies above her. She hopes to save enough money to leave "Hand-in-Hand House" and move into the city, where she can eat liangfen every day.
But as she goes out to find something to eat, the neighbor across the hall falls to his death right in front of her, just one step away.
The landlord curses that he'll have to pay more taxes. The guards complain that they should have gotten a dog instead. The murderer threatens to kill her whole family if she tells anyone.

But by the time they come to their senses, it's too late.
The heroine is a ghostie's girl: she doesn't talk much and is socially anxious, and her daily routine is to huddle in a corner and stare at people.
Set in an alternate modern world with no connection to reality!
It's inspired by ghost movies, ghost stories, and folklore, so it may be a little scary. (I don't know if I wrote it to be scary.) The author will mark the chapter titles when things get especially frightening.
Some antagonists in this story will use nasty language, and they will all die later on.
No one can do anything to the heroine. This is a power fantasy, and she is extremely strong with a huge golden finger. At the beginning, the world has no ghosts or souls. Later, ghosts will truly appear and turn the world upside down.
