[A brainless, silly little sweet treat]
I decided to get a cat. After doing my research, I chose a tuxedo cat.
The sun was shining when I went to pick it up.
It sat obediently in its carrier, occasionally poking its head out to look around. I looked forward to having a cat for company. When we first got home, it was timid and hid in the corner behind the sofa.
I called softly and prepared some delicious cat food. Gradually, it began exploring its new home.
A few days later, it showed its true colors.
By day, it was quiet, sleeping soundly in the sunlight. But at night, it seemed possessed. At two or three in the morning, a loud crash would suddenly ring out through the house. I'd get up to investigate and find it standing proudly on the table beside the shards of a toppled vase. It would race around like crazy, leaping from the sofa to the bed, then up to the top of the wardrobe. I couldn't sleep.
Within a few months, the new sofa was covered in scratches, with stuffing poking out. The curtains became its climbing frame, marked with claw prints. It chewed through my headphone cable, yanked my houseplants out by the roots, and scattered soil everywhere, then lounged happily in a flowerpot. It knocked over the trash can and scattered garbage everywhere.
I tried every method I could think of to discipline it.
It did whatever it wanted, whenever it wanted.
I broke down. Looking at my chaotic home, I couldn't understand why everyone else's cats were so well-behaved while mine was a little demon.
