[A mute, brooding, possessive top × a slow-witted, gentle little stutterer]
[Immortal Venerable × castoff]
A curse bound Gwen and Lu Sichen together.
That was the first time Gwen met the man who was her husband in name. He wore a blue-green jade crown and immaculate white-and-gold robes, sitting in his study with an air that warned others not to approach.
Her master pinched her, and only then did she realize she should greet him.
Gwen said timidly, "H-hello. I'm your wife, G-Gwen."
She was full of hope, but the man didn't even look up. He turned a page in his book and replied indifferently, "Mm. I know."
After three years of marriage, Gwen had spent all three years living apart from her husband, becoming a famous laughingstock in the immortal realm.
All she knew was that her husband was named Lu Sichen, that he was incredibly powerful, and that he had once loved someone who had died young.
Gwen spoke slowly, and she was slow-tempered too.
As the curse's time limit approached, she decided it was time to leave.
She had arrived with nothing and would leave with nothing. On the day she left, Gwen only left behind a divorce agreement.
Gwen ran far away and eventually bought a little house, adopted a silly little cat, and made a living writing romance stories.
She counted the days on her fingers. On the three hundredth day, someone knocked on the door.
Gwen opened it. The man was still as handsome as ever, but a trace of fatigue had appeared at the corners of his eyes, barely noticeable.
She tried to hold the door shut against this uninvited guest, but he effortlessly caught her wrist and pinned her against the wall.
Lu Sichen's voice sounded beside her ear. "Why did you run?"
Gwen slowly explained, "Y-you have someone you like, and you still came after me."
She sounded aggrieved. "I want a divorce."
Lu Sichen sighed and pressed a wet kiss to her cheek. "There's no one else. There's only you."
"I refuse to divorce you."
