[Inuyasha] Bewitched and Confused (Kikyo Fanfiction)

Kikyo, who lost consciousness after falling from Mount Hakurei, suddenly wakes up in an unfamiliar wooden cabin in the mountains. An unknown force traps her inside. Naraku has appeared there with her, too. A voice keeps speaking inside Kikyo's mind, telling her:

"The only way to get out of here is to sleep with the person you hate."

"Do you think what you see is the truth?"

"Maybe you'll never be able to leave this room."

Note: Naraku x Kikyo pairing story, inspired by the "room you can only escape by doing xx" trope. Long-form story following the original canon, happy ending.

Bai Zhi, the goddess who guards the world, dies after fighting to the bitter end alongside her longtime nemesis, the Ghost King Qi Yu.

The moment she opens her eyes, she finds she has transmigrated into Zi Yuan, the frail third princess of Jiang.

Everyone says she has the beauty of an immortal, with a pair of crystal butterfly wings as lovely as sheer silk, and they respect her for protecting all living beings. But now she's trapped in the useless body of Zi Yuan. Even when her father betroths her to Wen Shu, the infamous, bloodthirsty heir of Xia, she keeps fighting her way upward like a morning glory refusing to yield in adversity.

Then she discovers that Wen Shu is Qi Yu, the same man she fought to the bitter end with, and he's also ended up in another person's body. Fate has branded them with a curse, binding them together for all eternity. Bai Zhi grits her teeth in hatred.

She has to escape Qi Yu and return to being the goddess who protects the human world.

Later, by a twist of fate, she briefly experiences a vision of the future through the divine power of a secret treasure. In that future, she lies on a bed woven from clouds, nestled in Qi Yu's arms, their love tender and mutual as she welcomes his affection.

Bai Zhi throws up.

The Ghost King Qi Yu is obsessive and vicious, with a face as beautiful as jade and reddish tips to his peach-blossom eyes. He's a beauty wrapped in a ghost's body, a demon wearing human skin.

The world hates him for commanding all ghosts and slaughtering countless people, but no one knows that he bears the resentment of millions and has crawled out of mountains of corpses and seas of blood, walking alone.

He would even willingly bear the curse, "You will fall in love with the person you harmed, and your fates will be bound together for eternity," if it meant removing Bai Zhi, the goddess who guards the world, from his path.

Later, he inhabits Wen Shu's body and reunites with Bai Zhi. Because of the curse, he can no longer kill her, so he tries to corrupt her and turn her evil. Then he sees her feelings for Yun Huaqing, and jealousy surges through him. He wants to break all her limbs and keep her imprisoned at his side forever.

Qi Yu thinks he could never lose to a mere curse of fate.

Later, Bai Zhi sits on his throne, her eyes vacant like a puppet's. He, the once-insolent king, kneels at her feet, eyes red, hands gripping her waist as he begs in desperation: "Don't be like this, Bai Zhi. Please, say something, all right?"

At first, Qi Yu says, "Being a goddess is wonderful. Everyone admires you, and the Yun Huaqing you love is proud of you, too."

Bai Zhi says, "Get lost."

Later, Qi Yu says, "Try the sweet peppers I made for you, your favorite. Try on this outfit I picked out for you, and..."

Bai Zhi says, "You're so annoying."
