The night Chi Yang first arrived at the Bian family home, a blizzard was raging. Old Master Bian led her inside by the hand. “This is your third brother. You'll be staying with him in the East Wing from now on.”
Bian Yuheng sat on the stairs lighting a cigarette. His black shirt hung half open, and a scar wound across his collarbone like a crack split by moonlight.
“Yangyang, say hello,” Old Master Bian reminded her, patting her shoulder.
“Third Brother.”
“Mm. Why did you come here dressed like that?” He crushed the unlit cigarette between his fingers, his gaze sweeping over the patches on her ballet shoes and her frostbitten skin.
It was the first time she'd ever felt so wretched. Their eyes met, and her gaze went unfocused. She stood there staring at him, unable to calm her racing heart.

Later, the entire city of Beining knew that Third Young Master Bian had taken in a swan. By day, she danced on tiptoe at the theater. At night, she trembled in his arms.
“Where did that male dance partner put his hands during the curtain call?” He bit through the ties on her back and asked in a hoarse voice.
The mirror reflected the woman's reddened eyes. “Third Brother... You were watching from the audience.”
“Mm. From now on, can you dance for me alone?”
Chi Yang fell silent for a long time before answering. “If I do, will you promise not to get angry?”
He curved his lips in a low laugh. “When you're done, I'll teach you something even more pleasurable.”
Reading guide:
1. Both leads are virgins! This is a story of mutual healing. I'm terrible at writing blurbs.
2. Neither lead is perfect. They're both somewhat insecure and bad at expressing themselves. If that's not your thing, proceed with caution!
3. The events in this story are fictional, so please don't scrutinize them.
4. The pacing is on the slow side, with flashbacks interspersed throughout for extra thrills.

New novel coming soon: Summer Soda. Blurb:
Childhood friends | From school to the city | Mutual pining | Happy ending
Crybaby sweetheart vs. cocky, cool guy
Tu Hua has had a problem since childhood: whenever she gets emotional, she can't stop crying. Tan Yao has teased her about it countless times.
He snatched half her pineapple bun. She glared at him, cheeks puffed out, and just as tears threatened to fall, Tan Yao warned her around a mouthful of bread, “Cry again and the other half is mine too.”
“I... I'm telling your dad you bullied me!”
“Then I'll tell the whole class Tu Xiaohua is a crybaby~”
She could only force her tears back and secretly swear she wouldn't speak to him for the rest of the day.
At first, Tan Yao only liked stealing her snacks, taking sips of her drinks, and deliberately making her cry.
Later, he started pinching her cheeks and messing up her hair from time to time, teasing her whenever he got the chance. “How come you blush so hard you look ready to cry whenever you see your Yao-ge?”
Rumors that Tan Yao liked Tu Hua spread around school. Even his friends teased him, asking if he really had fallen for the little tagalong who was always at his heels. The boy gave a faint, careless smirk, his pride showing through. “Who likes her? She's just a crybaby.”
Tu Hua heard every word from around the corner and ran off.
After that, Tu Hua moved away and transferred schools. The two never saw each other again.
-
Time flew by, and they met again four years later.
It was pouring that day. Tu Hua had just finished her part-time shift and ran through puddles to the bus stop, mud spotting the hem of her long skirt.
The night was dark, the bus stop lights flickering on and off. A chill crept from her ankles up her spine as she shivered and waited.
What arrived wasn't a bus, but a limited-edition supercar.
The window rolled down, and the man's face appeared before her. His youthful innocence was gone, replaced by mature composure.
In an instant, she froze. Her breathing quickened, and her eyes reddened.
Tan Yao toyed with his keychain in the driver's seat, his deep gaze unreadable. “Getting so emotional you're about to cry again?”
She had no idea what possessed her to get into the car that night. He drove her to her dorm, but the moment she started upstairs, he cornered her in the dark by the stairwell, his voice hoarse and breaking with tears. “What do I do? I think you've infected me...”
Tu Hua was silent for half a second. “What?”
Tan Yao tugged at the corner of his mouth, his Adam's apple bobbing twice. “I'm a crybaby too.”
