At first, it was simply because I wanted to write a heroine who had also belonged to the Tang Sect in her previous life. I believe fanfiction should preserve the souls of the original characters. Xiao Wu wasn't suited to this role, so I created an original character.
As for why I paired the heroine with Tang San, my writing ability is limited. Given that the heroine comes from the Tang Sect, it would be impossible for her not to cross paths with Tang San. Meeting a fellow sect member from a past life in another world involves complicated emotions. I didn't want to write them as enemies, and perhaps because I lack life experience, I came up with many different scenarios but found it difficult to strike the right balance between a man and a woman.
