1. Fu Yue, the eldest daughter of the newly rich Fu family, is beautiful and pure-looking, but hot-tempered and unruly. She gets into fights wearing a watch worth millions, races cars on mountain roads at night, and is a troublemaker everyone dreads. After her parents force her to study abroad, she returns and is made to go on a blind date with a financial tycoon's daughter, all so she can marry into a wealthy family and shed her family's nouveau riche reputation.
2. When the nouveau riche heiress meets the financial tycoon's daughter on their blind date, sparks fly and the atmosphere at the table turns bizarre.
Fu Yue sneers. "I once had a beautiful tutor who worked her way through school. She looked exactly like you."
Yin Xin puts on a polite fake smile. "I once had a former girlfriend, a terrible student, who looked exactly like you too."
Fu Yue: "Describe your ex."
Yin Xin: "Dog-like. Very obnoxious."
"..."
The truth is, they're ex-girlfriends who secretly dated each other.
And Fu Yue really is pretty dog-like, in every sense of the word.
3. Both families assume the two didn't hit it off, but to their surprise, they keep meeting more and more often.
They laugh and chat in front of their parents, then turn around and bicker and trade barbs. Before long, their arguments carry them straight to bed.
They argue even harder in bed, bringing up old grievances while they do it, sweating and losing themselves in the heat of the moment until they forget everything else.
Afterward.
Fu Yue pins Yin Xin's hands beside the pillow.
"When you worked your way through school by tutoring me at home, weren't you called Lin Xin? When did you become the Yin family's heiress?"
Yin Xin's eyes redden, and Fu Yue can't bear to tease her anymore. She gathers her into her arms, kissing and soothing her. Her usual swagger crumbles at once. The business-world upstart who wears a suit and commands the room in public is completely at Yin Xin's mercy behind closed doors.
4. They claim they're not right for each other, but have secretly moved in together. They try all sorts of things in bed, and the consequence is
Yin Xin gets pregnant.
Both families are stunned. "Didn't they say they weren't interested in each other?"
With a baby on the way, the families rush to prepare a wedding, and the story trends three times a day. But Yin Xin says, "I'm not getting married."
Fu Yue abandons a business negotiation, leaves her luxury car downstairs with its hazard lights flashing, and rushes into the villa. Her eyes red, she asks, "Why?"
Yin Xin is calmly tying a bib around her adorable baby sister's neck. She smiles gently and looks up. "Training my dog."
