The Police Squad’s Beloved Darling in the Nineties

In 1990, pickpockets ran rampant at Haicheng Train Station, and all kinds of tricks were constantly cropping up, making life miserable for travelers. To crack down on them, the Nanan Police Station formed an Anti-Pickpocketing Squad, with Gu Zhen as its captain.

On the very first day the squad went out, they failed to catch any thieves. Instead, by sheer chance, they uncovered a child trafficking case and rescued several kidnapped children.

One of the children they rescued pointed at their captain and called out, "Daddy!"

Gu Zhen was completely baffled: "???"

Did he have a daughter?

Before meeting Suisui, Gu Zhen was lazy and carefree. He had no interests or ambitions after work, and just muddled through each day as it came.

After meeting Suisui, Gu Zhen was taking her to school, coaxing her to eat, tying her hair into braids and playing house with her. At night, he even had to read her bedtime stories... His days had become a chaotic whirlwind, but at last he had something to look forward to.

Suisui had snuck out of the house. When she opened her eyes, she found herself in a completely unfamiliar place. There, she met a younger version of her dad, who was wearing a police uniform just like in the family photo album... Except this dad seemed nothing like the one she knew.

He couldn't tie her pretty braids, prepare delicious lunches for her, or gently call her Suisui every time.

This dad was careless and absent-minded, and his cooking was awful. But somehow... he was still a dad who loved her very much.

On the third day of living with her "new dad," Suisui was sent to a nearby kindergarten.

At kindergarten, Suisui kept her father's words in mind and tried hard to hide her little secret: that she had come from the future. But she soon discovered that the other children had little secrets of their own, too.

There was an older boy with a fish tail; a girl who was always saying she'd transmigrated from another world; and a deskmate whose ears popped out whenever they got excited...

It turned out everyone had something special about them.
