Chen Yueying is straight, and unlike what his name might suggest, he's a sturdy six-foot-tall young man. He shouldered the responsibility of supporting his family early in life, tied on a little apron, and ran a snack shop, making his own way in the world.
Chen Yueying is kind to others and gets along well with his neighbors. He shows his secret crush, the doctor across the street, his affection by privately bringing her tasty food. When an injured homeless man knocks on his door in the middle of the night, he kindly takes him in, feeds him until he puts on some weight, then sends him on his way.
Only when a group of thugs who clearly mean business knocks him down after calling him to the door does he realize that he wasn't doing good deeds that night. He was digging his own grave.
Fake-cold, sexually detached hitman top 1 (Wu Changbai) + outwardly warm, inwardly cold fake-sunshine big shot top 2 (Li Chuang) × straight bottom (Chen Yueying). Love triangle with competing suitors.
Content warnings: There are scenes of the bottom being assaulted by multiple people. From the start, a crematorium arc is planned. The romance develops from nothing. The bottom is straight and initially has a one-sided crush on a woman. Due to his family background, he's a bit of a pushover with a savior complex (slurp), and has somewhat dark skin. The characters have historical inspirations, but the story is essentially made up by the author.
Theme: Don't pick up men by the roadside
