Tan Xu died.
He died on the day of Miao Yilin's surgery.
From that day on, a blurry white figure began appearing uncontrollably in Miao Yilin's mind: a gray hoodie, black hair, an indistinct face. The only thing she could make out was a pair of brown eyes.
Today, she "sees" him again.
She still can't make out his face, but the afternoon sun is blazing, and she can distinctly feel his fingers rubbing against her lips.
His voice, close to her ear, is like silk soaked in warm water: "Miao Yilin, don't ever forget: the one who kissed you was Tan Xu."
She wakes up with a splitting headache, opens her phone's inbox, and for the nth time reads the starred message.
--I'm Tan Xu.
