Ji Shu was born in an ordinary village. When a cultivation sect came to recruit disciples, he was thrilled. In the end, he had only the lowest-grade immortal root, but he bribed the elder in charge of recruitment and promised to work hard once he joined the sect. That was how he got in.

But the sect was only a small one. After joining, Ji Shu spent every day wondering how he could get into a major sect and make a name for himself.

To cultivate more outstanding members of the next generation, the great cultivation clans and noble houses organized the Qingyi Academy. Any eligible young person from a cultivation family could study there. Of course, every year the academy also allotted places to small sects, recruiting capable disciples from humble backgrounds.

Ji Shu did everything he could to get into Qingyi Academy, and was instantly dazzled by the extravagant lives of the noble scions there.

The F4 heard about him too. After seeing him held underwater and bullied, then getting up soaked and cursing, "Once I'm one of the F4's underlings, I'll throw you in there!" they grew interested. On a whim, they decided to tease him and let him become their underling.

Ji Shu was overjoyed and eagerly took up his new post.

His first task as an underling: The F4 were treating everyone, and he had to go to the town below the mountain to buy food for all ten thousand students at the academy.

The F4 had meant to give him a hard time, but Ji Shu was happy to do it because he thought treating everyone was impressive. He'd been too poor to afford it before. As he handed food to each person, he wore an expression of generosity and said, "My bosses are treating you!"

Watching Ji Shu, sweating and a little disheveled, yet smug and acting tough on the strength of his bosses, the F4 found him incredibly amusing.

His second task as an underling: Turn down a girl from a prestigious family with a fiery temper on behalf of the F4. The girl gathered some people and beat Ji Shu up.

Afterward, he showed up in front of the F4 with a bruised and swollen face, fawning over them. "She's not worthy of any of you. Good thing I turned her down for you. She said she won't bother you again." Proud of himself for taking care of such an important matter for the F4, he instinctively puffed out his chest, only to pull at his wounds by accident. He hissed, then said, "Hmph, at least she knew her place."

Everyone thought that the fawning, ingratiating Ji Shu was just a plaything to the F4 and that they didn't care about him. They kept bullying him behind his back, but the F4 grew more and more protective of him, until they eventually wouldn't let anyone lay a hand on him.

Ji Shu thought he was an excellent underling and was doing great at Qingyi Academy. The F4 trusted him as their underling now! Who could've guessed that it wasn't until he was pinned down on a bed that he found out being their underling also meant cultivating dual cultivation with the F4?
