To avoid socializing, he hides in a corner with a drink, until he suddenly spots his spouse, whom he hasn't seen in four months, at the banquet.
Only then does Raysmond realize that this is a welcome banquet for "the Empire's General, Axel Salinger, Director of the Military," who is also his spouse.
Axel wears a black cloak, his military boots stepping across the gleaming tiles. Snow on his shoulders blends into his silvery-white hair, radiating a chill.
His expression is solemn and indifferent, completely at odds with the boisterous banquet.
When they meet again, they act like strangers.
Though perhaps they aren't quite strangers.
After all, Axel comes to his room at night of his own accord and sleeps in the same bed as him.
Raysmond draws out his tail hook and thinks absently: What kind of relationship do Axel and I have?
