The first time Mu Yijing met Nan Ke, Nan Ke was acting as her father's divorce lawyer and explaining her arguments with impeccable logic.
On a spring afternoon filled with the stirrings of romance, Nan Ke was waiting for a rideshare by the roadside.
"Hey, beautiful, want to add me on WeChat?" A handsome man waved his phone.
Nan Ke took a closer look at the person in front of her. He wore a white hoodie and casual trousers, dressed casually yet with care. His smiling, almond-shaped eyes suited his sharply defined face perfectly, giving him a natural air that was bright yet still heroic.
"You were so engrossed in the story. Were you waiting to hear how it ended?"
Nan Ke had actually noticed him at the restaurant. As for why he was approaching her... she wasn't so confident as to think a man this handsome would hit on her.
He didn't bother to hide it. "I've never seen anyone help their own dad get a divorce before. You really know how to make the most of your professional skills."
Nan Ke didn't think that was a compliment.
"A lawyer?"
Nan Ke smiled. "You guessed right." She checked her phone. Her rideshare would be there in three minutes. "Let me guess what you do." Nan Ke appeared to think seriously for a few seconds. "A business owner?"
The handsome man looked down at what he was wearing today and praised her. "You have a discerning eye. I'm impressed." It was hard to tell whether he was praising her or himself. Sure enough, he couldn't hide his CEO aura anywhere he went.
The car arrived. Nan Ke scanned the man's WeChat QR code with her phone and got in. "Goodbye."
Mu Yijing watched the car drive away, tilted his head, and smiled. "Interesting."
