Jiang Zhiyi swore she'd never been this unlucky in her life.

The handsome man stared pensively at the television Jiang Zhiyi had knocked over when she appeared out of nowhere.

Jiang Zhiyi took a deep breath. She just had to pay him back, nothing to be afraid of.

Then she cautiously tried to strike up a conversation.

"If I told you I'm not from this world, would you believe me?"

The handsome man seemed to laugh in irritation.

"Just say you don't want to pay for it."

Jiang Zhiyi: "I'm broke..."

"Then work for me under the table, or let me eat you. That'd fill my stomach too."

Jiang Zhiyi: "???"

The handsome man transformed, sprouting a pair of fluffy cat ears and an enormous fluffy tail. He stared straight at Jiang Zhiyi.

"Mouse, then you have no choice but to let me eat you."

Jiang Zhiyi didn't hear a word he said. She just stared, unable to look away, and reached for his tail without thinking. The handsome man suddenly bristled.

"Are you even listening to me? Why are you touching someone else's tail all of a sudden?"

Jiang Zhiyi looked up and caught sight of herself in a mirror. A pair of ears had sprouted on her head, and a short tail had appeared behind her.

If she wasn't mistaken... those were hamster ears and a hamster tail.

What! So it turned out she and the handsome man were natural enemies! She'd thought he was trying to seduce her.

Working for the handsome man was miserable.

At the worst possible moment, the handsome man got sick. Since she didn't take advantage of sick people, Jiang Zhiyi became his caretaker.

It's fine. She was just helping her nemesis avoid dying of a fever. Nothing to be afraid of.

Jiang Zhiyi was so startled that she sat up straight. She glanced around to make sure no one else was there, then put an arm around his neck.

"Do you even know what you're saying?"

Just a nemesis with revolutionary friendship between them. How could that be shaken so easily?

"So what?"

He had no idea what outrageous nonsense he was saying.

"If you're not dating, why are you always stuck together?"

"It's my job," Jiang Zhiyi replied helplessly.

"Then why does he give you candy?"

"Because he's considerate of his employees," Jiang Zhiyi cut in again.

"And when you were hanging lanterns before, he was worried about you."

"He was afraid I'd fall and wouldn't be able to work for him."

Ah... Jiang Zhiyi fell silent and started making excuses. Cat and mouse could only be enemies.

Her friend thought it over and scoffed. He didn't believe her one bit...
