Ye Xin lost her job.
She gave up the tiny room she rented in the city center and moved back to her home in the old district, where she opened a Cantonese dessert shop.
Ginger milk pudding, red bean double-skin milk, black sesame soup, water chestnut dessert... The sight of all the different sweet soups made your mouth water.
The customers were all neighbors from nearby. Ye Xin didn't expect to make much money. When she had free time, she'd wander through the old district's alleys, chatting and playing chess with the aunties and uncles.
Then one day, a little golden retriever started wandering around near the shop.
A typhoon was on its way, so Ye Xin took in the little dog. But just a few days later, it disappeared.
While Ye Xin was busy searching for the dog, a handsome guy showed up at the dessert shop to apply for a job.
Ye Xin: My shop isn't hiring, is it?
Jin Cancan: But I want to drink sweet soup...
*Four words to sum it up: younger man, older woman, puppy-boy romance
[Reader's Note]
1. This is a short story, probably under 50,000 characters. I never planned to make it long.
2. "Sweet soup" is probably a term used in the Chaoshan region, but I didn't use it in the title so readers could understand the story more easily.
3. This story is entirely fictional. The dog in this story can eat anything, but be careful about what you feed real dogs!
