The year Wen Yang returned from studying abroad, his parents sent him to the countryside to visit his grandfather, and told him he had to stay in town for at least half a year.
The young master walked a couple of laps through the muddy fields, splattering mud all over the cuffs of his custom-made trousers.
His grandfather leaned back in his rocking chair and drawled, "A Yang, you've been spoiled with fine things your whole life. You need to learn how to rough it. Just look at Sui Sui, what a lovely girl."
Wen Yang looked up and saw someone in the distance wearing an apron and holding a cleaver as she chased a flock of chickens.
What a lovely girl?
Wen Yang couldn't see what was so lovely about her. All he remembered was her swinging a sickle at him a few days earlier.
Before long, though, he ended up in Zhong Sui's bed, only for her to dump him without a second thought.
"Wen Yang, don't come bothering me again."
He watched her get dressed and leave the bedroom without giving him so much as a glance.
A few years later, Wen Yang ran into that cold-hearted woman again in high society.
Zhong Sui looked at him and feigned shock. "Excuse me, sir, have we met before?"
Wen Yang sneered. "We have. In your bed. You have a red birthmark on your inner thigh."
Zhong Sui was convinced she and Wen Yang were fundamentally incompatible.
He opposed her at every turn, and the moment their eyes met, they would start arguing.
But after she somehow ended up sleeping with him once, she couldn't get rid of him.
