This is a story about Naslin and Snape.
Naslin was taught from childhood to be a lady and to smile. When she grew up, she really did manage to keep smiling all the time. She became good at stabbing people in the back with a smile.
The first time she saw Snape, she never imagined she would have much to do with the greasy-haired little boy who was always hunched over.
The second time they met formally, she invited Snape to become her partner.
The third, fourth, fifth time... Without Naslin realizing it, he became more and more special to her, until she fell in love with him.
In the end, that boy became her husband and the father of her child.
Snape's perspective:
His unhappy family made him gloomy and unpleasant.
Snape admits he was drawn in by the generous pay Naslin offered. Potions was an expensive subject.
He had always thought that his relationship with Naslin went no further than being partners. Then, one day, Lily pointed out how special Naslin was to him. He thought about it for a long time before realizing that, without knowing it, he had already fallen for her.
But could he and Naslin really have a future together, at such a dangerous time?
Reader's guide:
Neither Snape nor Naslin is a good person in the conventional sense.
The author is only recording their lives, so some things won't be described in great detail and will be glossed over.
The author is generally on Snape's side, but won't bash anyone. Everyone has their own charms, to varying degrees (except Little Cake and Voldemort).
This story covers both the Marauders' era and the next generation, in two volumes, or three if necessary. If you don't like it, you can leave. Please don't make extreme comments. The author is sensitive and will be heartbroken.
The entire story will be extensively revised after it's finished.
Friends are already urging me to update, so there's a good chance I won't drop it.
Extras will appear at random. You can comment with the kind of extra you'd like. The author is a real person and reads the comments. I'll remember your requests if I see them; writing them is just a matter of finding the time.
The story is bittersweet overall, but has a happy ending.
Except where the plot requires it, I won't change much of the original story.
I'll do my best to keep Snape in character. I like his original personality.
This fanfic won't be paywalled or signed to a contract (not sure if anyone will read it, but I'll say it upfront).
Finally, all glory belongs to Rowling.
Enjoy reading.
Theme: Writing the Snape I imagine in my heart.
