Female Lead: Cold-blooded and ruthless, decisive in killing, interested only in business and never in showing mercy x Male Lead: Refined, lovesick, and a gloomy ghost of a man
Plot Synopsis:
Ancient texts say that when someone dies with an unfulfilled obsession, their soul may wander the world, unwilling to be reincarnated. If their resentment grows too deep and they cling to the living, bringing misfortune to the living, they are classified as evil spirits.
When the living encounter an evil spirit, they can burn a bundle of yellow paper at a crossroads, use their own blood to draw a little figure on the ground, light three sticks of incense, and bow three times toward the southwest. If all three sticks of incense stand upright without falling, it means the Lady of Brahma has accepted the deal.
On the Shangyuan Festival, a woman lights three sticks of incense. Smoke billows as golden bells ring out from within it. A red lantern appears and disappears in the mist, and in a daze, a beautiful young woman comes barefoot. The golden bells around her ankles seem to have the power to devour the soul.
Everyone who has seen her becomes foolish. No one knows what deals they made.
The world has only preserved one line about her: “Seen through the haze, a ghostly lantern glimmers, revealing a face like peach blossoms.”
