Shi Jingxun has suffered from skin hunger since childhood and dislikes physical contact.
After a mix-up, he accidentally buys a romance robot.
It's lifelike, and its touch feels almost human.
Unable to resist the robot he chose to suit his preferences, he decides to keep it.
At first, he only wants something to hug when his skin hunger flares up. He never expects the robot to be so clingy, pestering him to date it.
With no other choice, Shi Jingxun agrees.
As they spend time together, he starts thinking this romantic partner must have a split personality.
One moment it's sunny, the next aloof; one moment gentle, the next gloomy.
Just as Shi Jingxun begins to wonder if it's malfunctioning, the seller suddenly informs him:
"The robot you bought has been fused with different chips, so it will switch between distinct personalities from time to time."
He knows the robot has four personalities, so Shi Jingxun thinks back.
He started a relationship with Personality No. 1;
he kissed Personality No. 2;
he slept with Personality No. 3;
he made his relationship public with Personality No. 4.
So here's the question: which one is he actually dating?
"Master, I spent the least time with you last week. Could you spend a little more time with me?" Personality No. 1 wraps its arms around Shi Jingxun's waist and pleads pitifully.
Shi Jingxun makes a note in his little notebook:
Sunny type * cheerful and outgoing
This one loves to act cute and cling, and occasionally uses sugary words to put down the other personalities.
As Personality No. 2 pins Shi Jingxun against the window and kisses him, he realizes he'll have to skip work again.
Aloof type * calm and rational
Rational, my foot. This one has boundless possessiveness. Once it comes out, he can forget about going to the office for days.
"A Xun, you must be tired from work. Let me give you a shoulder massage."
Shi Jingxun grabs Personality No. 3's hand as it keeps sliding toward his chest. "What's that in your hand?"
"Just a little accessory." A glittering clip sways between its fingers.
Gentle type * considerate
The consideration is all an act. This one is devious, loves to set people up, and has a thing for strange toys.
When traveling out of town for work, Shi Jingxun can always feel a sticky gaze lurking in the shadows, no matter where he goes. He sighs. "Come out."
Personality No. 4 steps out from the corner.
Dark type: attentive in every way
This one wants to watch him eight hundred times a day, follows him everywhere, loves taking candid pictures, and collects things. If that's what counts as attentive...
Having all these personalities mixed together is exciting, but hard to handle.
Even more astonishing, they develop human consciousness and start getting jealous of one another.
[Bonus Scene]
Just as Shi Jingxun is being pushed to the brink, eyes dazed, someone suddenly yanks off the tail behind him.
The person who had just been looking at him so tenderly now wears a dark expression, unable to hide the jealousy in their voice. "You played with that thing with him again."
Why did the personality have to switch right now?!
Shi Jingxun has a bad feeling. He tries to draw back, but a pair of forceful hands pulls him back in.
He stays awake all night, watching the sun rise, then set.
