[The worthless fish eyes they discarded are the pearls I have long dreamed of. Those in high positions bow their heads, while those below see clearly. (Unhinged) (not really)]
Blurb:
Shen Fu grew up in the Huo family for so long that he came to believe he was one of them. Then one day, he found his adoption papers in a desk drawer in the study.
His younger brother's hatred, his older brother's indifference, his mother's coldness...
All his doubts were resolved at once.
He slipped the adoption papers into his pocket, quietly went downstairs, and left for five or six years.
Strangely, after he left,
the usually quiet and still atmosphere in the Huo family home grew even colder.
The elegant, aloof eldest young master of the Huo family constantly radiated coldness, leaving everyone in the mansion too frightened to speak.
The arrogant, sharp-tongued second young master grew listless and quiet. Slumped sideways on the sofa, he tossed a half-empty can of cat food that Shen Fu had left behind into the air, catching it again and again. His face was dark, and nobody knew what he was plotting.
The elegant, refined Madam Huo became distracted all day long. She could no longer be bothered to match her beautiful fur coats, had no appetite, and was deeply unhappy.
So where on earth did our beautiful Shen Fu go?!
■ Faux-incest, one-on-one romance
■ Sickly, pitiful, universally disliked man (x) irresistible, stubborn beauty (v)
■ Angsty melodrama. There will be babies, though it's not yet clear whether that's later in the story or in an extra.
One-line summary: A beautiful wife who leaves home is like a fallen pink grandpa. If you're too slow, she's gone.
[The adoption papers were unsigned and unstamped, so they are not on the same household register. Their relationship begins after they are adults.]
[This is the next story I'll be writing. Please add it to your favorites, and thank you so much (heart).]
