The Matsuda family had a dog. He'd found it when he was five.
The little puppy he'd found was filthy all over, had an indescribably foul smell, and was covered in fleas.
Mazda had found it a little off-putting at first.
But the puppy was well-behaved, and even helped him chase away the people who picked on him!
So Mazda brought the puppy home. After washing it, he discovered it was an Akita puppy and named it Chachamaru.
Chachamaru grew quickly, and got much bigger than an ordinary Akita. In just one year, it had grown larger than him!
One day, Mazda couldn't resist and climbed onto Chachamaru, who looked so majestic.
Mazda: Hey, Hagi! Do I look cool?
Hagiwara: (eyes sparkling) You look so cool, Jinpei! Just like a prince from a fairy tale!
Matsuda August Chachamaru: Cool, my tail! Kids really are such a pain!! And what kind of prince rides a dog?!
Mazda: I don't want to be a prince! I want to be a hero!
[Mazda equipped the weapon "Tree Branch"]
[Mazda issued the command "Chachamaru, Charge"]
[Chachamaru thought for three seconds and chose to lie down right where it was]
Mazda: Damn, is this as far as we go?! Come on, Chachamaru!!
Mazda had always known his dog was clever. Sometimes, he even felt like it was human.
Mazda: (sternly) Chachamaru! Transform!
Hagiwara: Jinpei, dogs can't turn into people.
Mazda: But I always feel like it'll turn into a person any second now?
Chachamaru: Hah, I'll turn into a person and scare the daylights out of you, brat.
Chachamaru never did turn into a person. Instead, it became a mound of dirt protecting that stinky brat.
[Game Over]
[Restart?]
Chachamaru, or rather, August, looked at the words on the screen and clicked his tongue in displeasure.
Ding-dong!
"Your adjutant is calling."
August instantly hit restart.
August had escaped into a game to avoid work, but hadn't had time to create his character.
The System randomly assigned him a human identity.
August: What a pain! Being human is exhausting! I don't want to work, socialize, or be human!
Just as August was considering deleting his save file by killing himself, he saw someone familiar.
August: Holy crap! Isn't that the little brat from his family? When did he get so big?!
Wait! Why does this game continue the timeline, too?!

August: (taunting) What's wrong, little cop? You used to be so tough. Now that you're riding me, you can't even catch your breath?
Mazda: (furious) You... Just you wait! You bastard!
August: Sure. But first... let's get started!
