On the day Jiang Ni was released from prison, Wen Shuhuai was holding her wedding in a hotel ballroom.

Standing at the hotel entrance, Jiang Ni stared at the wedding photos of Wen Shuhuai and that man. She lit a string of firecrackers before anyone else could, then hurled the explosives, burning with rage, through the doors amid everyone's screams.

Three years later, Wen Shuhuai divorced her husband with nothing to her name and returned to Haishi alone to start over. Jiang Ni had long since driven her long-haul truck across the country. Used to keeping upside-down hours, she barreled down the roads without ever stopping.

Then one day, Wen Shuhuai was dumped on the roadside like a piece of trash. Jiang Ni, on her way to make a delivery, stood by the road and watched her for a long time before taking her home. They spent the night together. Wen Shuhuai was sweet and soft. Naked in Jiang Ni's arms, she said, "Jiang Ni, I've missed you so much. Can we start over?" Jiang Ni said yes.

Wen Shuhuai thought their quiet, happy life would go on forever, until one day she heard Jiang Ni on the phone with a girl.

"How long are you going to keep lying to her? How much longer do I have to wait?"

"Not long now."

"Don't tell me you've fallen for her."

"How could I? I hate her too much for that."

In an instant, Wen Shuhuai understood that all the happiness and warmth had been nothing but a revenge plot. She said nothing and continued pretending she knew nothing, living a close and peaceful life with Jiang Ni.

Even if the happiness was fake, she was willing to lose herself in the deception without hesitation.

Wen Shuhuai had betrayed her and sent her to prison. She couldn't accept the broken part of Jiang Ni; she wanted her to go straight.

In the dark of night, Jiang Ni stared at the evidence in her hands, eyes gleaming, and smiled.
