The Mermaid's Rise to the Top in Mihua Town

Otonashi Chisaki is a 300-year-old baby mermaid who, after his hometown was polluted, got so hungry he chewed his way through a submarine. He decides to go ashore and latch onto someone who'll keep him fed for the long term.

He succeeds. Blond, tanned, handsome, can cook, and even gives him spending money.

The only problem is that the guy seems to be a member of a criminal organization.

Chisaki: No problem. This prince can turn him to our side. First, act cute, then mooch food and drink, and spend all his organization's funds along the way.

Day two. He added more poison. Pei Ji went to work full of energy.

Day three. He changed the mushrooms. Pei Ji's cold poison eased a little more.

Bai Ling watched his healthy complexion, his mycelium twisting into angry knots behind him.

To increase his yield, Bai Ling secretly planted a huge patch of mushrooms in Pei Ji's backyard.

He served soup by day and watered the mushrooms by night, so busy he barely had time to sit down.

Until one day, he woke up in Pei Ji's bed, aching all over, with not a patch of unbruised skin on him. Pei Ji propped himself up on one arm and pinched his earlobe, looking quite pleased.

Bai Ling squatted beside the flower bed, chin in his hands, staring at his flourishing "mushroom army" in deep thought.

Pei Ji came over and bent down to wrap his arms around him from behind, smiling.

"Baby, can a poisonous mushroom spirit and a human have little mushrooms?"

Bai Ling whipped around. "?"

Wasn't this supposed to be a revenge story? How did it turn into a story about having babies?
