They first met in Loguetown, where Bai Ran said she was a female doctor.
So when the red-haired boy invited her to join his pirate crew in the rain, Bai Ran agreed and became the ship's doctor of the Red Hair Pirates.
From then on, the name of the white-haired miracle doctor spread across the seas. In this era of woefully backward medicine, the World Government began hunting her down, while the Navy wanted to keep her. Rumor had it that whoever got their hands on her would never have to fear disease and could stay young forever.

Trafalgar Law: Don't you dare lay a hand on Master Bai!
Kuzan: Oh my, Ranran is the little sister I claimed for myself. If you try to hurt her, that'd make things very troublesome for me~
Nico Robin: I won't let you catch my senior sister!
Luffy, Ace, and Sabo: We'll protect Dream Sis!
Red Hair Pirates: Doctor Bai is our captain's wife! If you want her, you'll have to beat our boss first!
Shanks turned back with a pitiful look: Honey, I'm scared~
Bai Ran's mouth twitched. She stepped up beside the man. "Medicine can save lives, but it can also kill."
"Want to give it a try?"
