In the second semester of senior year, Shu Nuo takes the start-of-term exam. A few days later, the rankings come out, and Shu Nuo is once again second in the whole school. He's already been beaten by Yan Hewen, the top student, in several exams. Shu Nuo couldn't beat him in the start-of-term exam, or the midterms, and he definitely won't beat him in the finals. Refusing to accept this, Shu Nuo goes to find Yan Hewen and ask for another test. But when he sees Yan Hewen in person, Shu Nuo falls in love at first sight, then slinks away.
After that, Shu Nuo starts arranging to run into Yan Hewen, sometimes intentionally and sometimes not.
