How embarrassing. He couldn't remember.

Never mind that he'd forgotten. An alien species getting mixed up with humans and leading the Independent Army in rebellion against the Federation's tyranny was not what an alien was supposed to do. Being hunted by both armies was his comeuppance. He slaughtered the pursuers, yet left alive the person hiding behind a rock. Maybe he'd been infected by humanity. His bloodied hand reached out, then drew back. He was afraid of getting the fruit dirty. He was afraid of frightening that innocent civilian.

He kindly urged the person to run for their life, but that very person plunged a knife into his chest and killed him.

Miaoyu knew he wouldn't die, but he hadn't expected to come back to life so soon. He hadn't expected the first person he saw to be his killer, either, and he certainly hadn't expected that killer to take him and run off together in the dead of night.

That wasn't something a human was supposed to do, either.

He stared at the other person, sizing him up again and again, and interrogated him at length. The other guy seemed like a taciturn sort. Miaoyu wasn't satisfied. He was a head shorter than the other man, and when he grabbed him by the collar, he instinctively rose onto his tiptoes.

"Do you regret it?"

Those golden eyes, like a kitten's, blinked. Two seconds later, Miaoyu knew he'd captured another heart. But aliens had their own destiny. As the pursuers returned, at the moment between life and death, Miaoyu hugged the other man and left him a forceful farewell kiss, then turned and walked toward the black hole.

It's true that aliens don't die easily. But Miaoyu had overlooked one thing: repeatedly faking his death could make him lose his memories. Worse still, after losing all his memories and turning into a cat, he ran into that man again. The man immediately called him Miaoyu, went through fire and water for him, took him home, kept him by his side, and even manhandled him through his heat.

The kitty was a little excited, actually. But first, he had a little question:

Who was Miaoyu?

Could Miaoyu be his beloved?
