After failing to win back her ex for the umpteenth time, Xu Tingyan drank herself silly at a bar until late at night.
When she left, a torrential downpour began. It ruined her carefully done makeup and, worse, made her lose the moon bracelet her ex had loved so much when they were together.
Heartbroken, she cried until she found herself standing outside her ex's home.
Jiang Ciyue opened the door.
She sniffled. "I lost the bracelet..."
He said nothing.
Nervously, she fidgeted with her hands. "I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you."
The moonlight shifted. She was soaked through, her shoulders trembling.
As a flush crept up her neck, he finally spoke. "How are you going to make it up to me?"
Her face reddened. She whispered, "With me."
Jiang Ciyue knew Xu Tingyan liked him, and saw right through her tricks. But he didn't want her to win him over so easily.
Because she would leave him.
-
Not long afterward.
Having successfully won her man back, Xu Tingyan was in high spirits. With a grand flourish, she spent a fortune renting a luxury yacht to celebrate with the younger guys at her club.
She had planned to throw the party behind the back of her aloof, taciturn boyfriend, an incomparable jealous king with an overwhelming possessive streak. Who could have guessed... he would find out anyway?
When she got home afterward, she nervously pushed open the bedroom door and looked up. Someone was sitting quietly on the bed.
After hesitating for a while, she walked over and sat naturally in Jiang Ciyue's lap.
"What?" he asked coldly.
Fearlessly, she pointed toward the bathroom and blushed as she invited him, "Want to take a bath together?"
The bathroom was hot and humid. In a brief pause, Xu Tingyan gasped for breath, wanting to explain what had happened that evening.
But Jiang Ciyue refused to listen. He bit her neck and said hoarsely, "You want to see me lose control, don't you?"
She deliberately let out a sob.
"Why are you crying?" He paused, his tone still cold. "I won't go soft. You should know that."
Not long after,
he sighed and pulled her into his arms, gently coaxing her.
"Don't cry."
"I'll listen to what you have to say."
"Jealous? I'm not."
Xu Tingyan knew Jiang Ciyue was hard to pursue, and understood he was doing it on purpose, but she didn't mind playing along.
Because he was her beloved little moon.
