When the Obsessive Cold Star Falls

(This story is not contracted, updates whenever inspiration strikes, and is a short story of tens of thousands of words.)

★ Shen Zhaixing has three secrets:

1. She is the top assassin in the martial world.

2. She is married.

3. Her husband has no idea who she really is.

One night, she came home covered in blood and ran into her husband, who should have been on night duty.

Ning Yu watched his wife climb over the wall, while she stared at her husband standing in the doorway.

“Madam, what are you...?”

“Would you believe me if I said I was out admiring the moon?”

Later, after all her secret identities were exposed, she stood in front of him with a knife in hand. “If you’re scared, close your eyes.”

Ning Yu smiled and held her bloodstained hand. “My dear, I’ll teach you how to kill without a knife.”

When he was fourteen, Ning Yu, a poor scholar, rescued a girl.

When she left, she stole half his jade pendant, and his heart along with it.

Years later, the newly risen court official Lord Ning married a beautiful young woman of mysterious origins. No one knew that every night Lord Ning stayed up reading by lamplight, his wife was out killing people.

(I accidentally started the wrong story and couldn’t delete it, so I have to write a short story to fill it in. Probably under a hundred thousand words. I’ll come back to it when I have time.)
