Qingshui, a female doctor with many secret identities who wanders the martial world, was born with a congenital illness and will not live past twenty. She had planned to drift through life until she died, but one day she found the gravely wounded Zhao Buyao (Zhao Shangshan) by the river. Influenced by Zhao, Qingshui decides to fulfill her master's dying wish before she dies: travel the martial world, gather the ten medicinal herbs that were lost long ago, and compile them into a book for the benefit of future generations. As they venture deeper into the martial world in search of the herbs, they meet Zhou Zheng, a wealthy young man who is also out adventuring, and the three embark on one perilous journey after another, becoming caught up in a vast conspiracy.
