Shen Ci is the most famous student at Mingcheng No. 1 High School. He made a name for himself by ranking first in his grade with his middle-school entrance exam results, then beating three troublemakers single-handedly on the first day of his freshman year to save a classmate. He's terrifyingly good at both academics and fighting.

From then on, the school's most impressive top-ranked student became the talk of the whole campus. In his sophomore year, Shen Ci caused another sensation when he single-handedly defeated the school bully, feared by everyone at Mingcheng No. 1, to save a freshman girl.

And so, the student known by the dual titles of academic ace and school bully became famous throughout Mingcheng No. 1...

But Shen Ci has another secret no one knows: this kid also has an astonishing talent for history! His depth of thought is completely unlike that of his peers.

Still, one of the things students at the school discuss most about Shen Ci is the mint-green datolite necklace he wears around his neck all year long. Even Shen Ci himself doesn't know where it came from. He only knows that it's very important to him...

In their sophomore year, a transfer student named Song Yan joined Class One.

"I'll be top of the grade sooner or later."

"Keep dreaming."

And so began the rivalry between Shen Ci and this arrogant, aloof transfer student, whose tongue was every bit as sharp as his own.

But as the saying goes, if love can turn into hate, why can't hate turn into love?

Of course it can! And so, in their senior year, this dramatic scene unfolded...

"All right! I like you, okay?" Shen Ci finally snaps.

"All right. Shen Ci, I've been waiting a long time for this..."
