I'm the Foil to the Male Lead in an Imperial Exam Novel

Gu Heng transmigrated.

He became the male lead's foil in The Scholarly Family.

The male lead was naturally brilliant, achieved the top honors in all six imperial examinations, and rose to the highest ranks of court.

Meanwhile, Gu Heng was the male lead's lazy, greedy cousin, who started with a winning hand and played every card badly. Every one of his appearances in the story served either to highlight how hard the male lead studied or to show just how clever he was at such a young age.

Gu Heng: ?

Little cousin, let's get competitive!

If the moon stays up, so will I. And you won't be sleeping either!

Little Cousin: ?
