Spider-Man: Inside Out AU
When puberty arrives, every child's brain goes through a great migration to make room for new emotions.
At this moment, inside the headquarters of ordinary middle schooler Peter Parker's brain, the five core emotions are ready: Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger, and Fear.
Joy stands at the center, holding down the emotion control panel. Proudly, she says, "He's been an excellent student since childhood, always carrying an air of ease and innocence, as if he can handle anything."
"No one knows how many witty remarks Peter has in his head."
"The best news this year: thanks to his own hard work, he got into the best high school in Queens, Midtown High School!"
"He even got a full scholarship! Uncle Ben and Aunt May are so proud of him!"
"And the most exciting thing is, " Joy cheered. "Tomorrow's lab tour!"
"Peter's been looking forward to it for a whole month!"
A few little mishaps happened along the way, but everything went as planned.
After grumbling a little about the spider that bit Peter, everyone soon went to sleep.
That night, an alarm rang through the entire headquarters. A wrecking ball smashed its way in, and a construction crew charged into headquarters carrying sledgehammers and chainsaws.
A jackhammer tore up the entire floor. A group of workers came in with new red-and-blue tiles and laid them down. Without a word, an engineer went to the control panel and stirred the wires around like spaghetti, installing a whole bunch of new buttons. A moment later, he slammed the cover shut, adjusted his yellow hard hat, and coolly walked away.
When Joy and the others woke up, a black figure was sitting in the middle of headquarters.
The entire headquarters had been renovated, and a giant spider had been stamped on the central emotion control panel.
"Who are you?" Fear asked in alarm.
Sadness rifled through the reports beside her. "The notice we got earlier said four new companions would arrive... but it looks like only one came."
"You mean Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui?" The black figure stood up. "They're not coming."
"Hello," he introduced himself. "I'm Spider-Sense."
Tips: Spider-Man is my one and only. This story is mainly about Peter Parker!
The story follows Spider-Man's debut and his friendship with Harry Osborn, as well as his entanglement with Venom.
The setting draws on the Spider-Man trilogy, The Amazing Spider-Man, the original Spider-Man comics, and Ultimate Spider-Man. It doesn't involve the little Spider-Man from the Marvel Universe.
