The Wolf Girl of the Northern Desert, Xiao Yan VS the Great Yan Princess, Murong Yan
1.
The hostage sent by Great Yan to the Northern Desert disappeared halfway there.
Xiao Yan, a tribal leader with a pair of deep green eyes, had grown up among wolves and could barely recognize a few characters. Yet somehow, she ended up picking up a troublesome woman: Murong Yan. The woman was fair as snow and frail as a willow, coughing up blood every three steps and fainting every five.
“Xiao Yan, I’m cold...”
“Xiao Yan, I want to sleep in your arms...”
Everyone in the tribe said that this pampered woman from the Central Plains wouldn’t survive the winter.
But Xiao Yan managed to keep her alive. She made her drink goat’s milk, taught her to ride and shoot, took her out to herd livestock, and even prepared medicinal baths for her herself.
Half a year later, Murong Yan was not only alive, but rosy-cheeked and strong enough to knock a steppe warrior flat with her bare hands.
“Xiao Yan.”
She smiled as she hooked a finger into the leader’s belt. “Now that I’m better, shouldn’t I learn something else?”
2.
Rumors spread through the tribe that Murong Yan was a spy.
Someone intercepted her hunting falcon and found a secret letter tied to its wing.
Xiao Yan held the paper up to the candlelight and spent half the night deciphering it. Picking out the characters she recognized with some difficulty, she slapped the table, her ears burning red.
“Nonsense! It clearly says... says she wants to start a family with me!”
3.
No one knew that Murong Yan had done it on purpose.
She deliberately coughed up blood, deliberately pretended to faint, deliberately slipped into Xiao Yan’s fur blanket in the dead of night.
She taught this wolf to read, helped her eliminate political rivals, and even placed the golden crown of the tribal leader on her head with her own hands.
Until, after a night of passion, she stole Xiao Yan’s wolf-head jade pendant and vanished without a trace.
“Xiao Yan.”
Dressed in a phoenix robe, the woman smiled from her imperial throne thousands of miles away. “You taught me that if I want something, I have to take it with my own hands.”
4.
After secretly marrying the hostage, Xiao Yan was exposed. To save her tribe, she was forced into a political marriage. In Changqiu Palace, before she could even draw the dagger hidden in her sleeve, the heartless woman who had stolen her jade pendant and slept with her before running off turned out to be the emperor of Great Yan.
“Ah Yan, have you missed me?”
1. They take turns pursuing each other.
2. The characters’ values do not represent the author’s values.

A seemingly pure emperor with a dark side, in the receiving role VS a sinister, obsessive chancellor, in the pursuing role
From Xie Qingyuan’s perspective:
I have been reborn seven times.
In the first six lives, I killed Chu Xuanshu in different ways. She was the woman who once pierced my throat with the golden hairpin I had given her as a token of our love.
Swords, poison, drowning... Each time she breathed her last, the same suffocating pain coiled tightly around me. An invisible chain bound us together, making us share our pain and feel one another’s deaths.
To kill her was to kill myself.
When I opened my eyes after being reborn for the seventh time, I had returned to the day we first met.
At the banquet, she wore white as bright as snow and composed a poem in seven steps, earning the whole hall’s applause. I watched her from afar, behind the beaded curtain.
If I couldn’t kill her, then I would try another way.
In this life, I would raise this little bird into a caged songbird who could only beg me for mercy.
I doted on her and kept her amid luxurious finery, but never allowed her to touch even the slightest measure of power. I led her to kill, lured her into bearing infamy, and turned her once-pristine reputation into a laughingstock among the people.
Drunk beneath the moon, she knelt beside me, trembling as she kissed my fingertips. Choking back tears, she said, “I love Your Highness.”
I caressed her face, gazed into her eyes filled with desire and obsession, and spoke softly.
“Xuanshu, I can indulge you and spoil you, but you must not ask for my love. I am born of the imperial bloodline. What are you?”
I abandoned her and left the capital, never looking back, even as she knelt before me and begged in vain. I thought I had won, leaving her to rot in a gilded hell.
In less than three years, news of victory at the border arrived alongside the tolling of funeral bells.
She climbed over the corpses of my political enemies and closest kin to claim the chancellorship, wielding power over the entire court.
On the night of the coup, I was imprisoned in Fengyi Palace and reduced to a puppet emperor. She knelt before me, holding my hand as she spoke softly.
“A Qing, don’t be so cruel to me. How can you bear not to love me?”
“Drink my heart’s blood, and in every life to come, you and I are destined to remain entangled.”

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I love the tugging and tugging so much 😳
Come on [laugh haha][laugh haha][laugh haha] Well written
I don't know how to describe it. In the beginning, it was written in a large way how the little wolf wanted to escape and be free and return to the grassland. Although it was later explained that this was just her obsession and self-deception, there was still a strong sense of separation. Maybe it was because she had no hesitation for freedom in the past, but now she said that just smoke would be enough. She was so humble that she lost herself. The little wolf turned into a big dog. The gap was too big [covering face and crying]
This reminds me of Mr. Xie next door. [Orange candy] I got it. [Orange candy] I got it.
