After Marrying My Ex-Boyfriend's Uncle

Medical PhD student Li Yimian accidentally transmigrates into a melodramatic novel as a frail, sickly little green tea.

After her ex-boyfriend Fang Yu betrays her, the little green tea schemes her way into the bed of Fang Sinan, the head of the Fang family. She falsely claims to be pregnant and threatens Fang Sinan into signing a marriage contract. The little green tea meets a gruesome end. When her fake pregnancy is exposed, she flies into a desperate rage, kidnaps Fang Sinan's one true love, and escapes with a fortune, only to be caught by Fang Sinan and sent to prison for execution.

Li Yimian tosses aside the ginseng slices and flops onto the bed. "I've got a rotten life anyway. Might as well give up."

And so, with the attitude that harmony is best, Li Yimian begins a mutually respectful, platonic life with Fang Sinan.

When Fang Sinan has to attend a social engagement, Li Yimian sways over on his frail legs, his pale little face struggling to form a smile. "It doesn't matter if you come home or not, just don't drink too much."

When Fang Sinan dines with his one true love, Li Yimian stays up all night embroidering a pair of mandarin ducks for them. His pretty, fragile eyes are full of relief. "Your happiness is my happiness."

When rumors spread that Fang Sinan is involved with a minor celebrity, Li Yimian appears slowly at the press conference in a loose coat. The wind tousles his hair, adding to his air of fragility. "I trust Sinan. He's a perfect partner."

His ex-boyfriend Fang Yu and the others are always gossiping about how Li Yimian shamelessly and undignifiedly curries favor with Fang Sinan for money and power. Only Li Yimian knows the truth: he really is just trying to stay alive. Once he gets his health back, he'll run away immediately.

That's what he thought, and that's what he did.

Five months later, he leaves behind divorce papers, throws away the pillow he'd used to fake a pregnancy, puts on sunglasses and a mask, and swaggeringly arrives at the airport in the southern suburbs. But as soon as he gets out of the car, a group of men in black cover his nose and mouth. When he wakes, he's inside a crumbling building.

The kidnapper menacingly hands him a phone. "Call Fang Sinan and tell him to bring five hundred billion in ransom to save you, or I'll throw you off this building."

Li Yimian looks up at the hundred-meter drop and pleads in despair, "Could you give me a discount? My husband and I aren't on good terms."

The kidnapper: "..."

Fang Sinan arrives with the five hundred billion in no time. After dealing with all the kidnappers, he holds Li Yimian tightly in his arms. Li Yimian looks up as Fang Sinan's hot tears soak his pale, beautiful forehead.

He thought he had failed to change his fate and was still the medicine jar everyone hated. Little did he know that he had long ago become the moonlight Fang Sinan had pressed into his ribs, keeping time with his heartbeat.
