You've started New Game Plus.
This chapter-based wuxia game really is beautifully made. Each chapter is its own separate story, and now and then, later chapters even offer a glimpse of what happened after a completed story.
No wonder it shot up the Steam sales charts as soon as it came out.
The only problem is that it's way, way too hard!
The plot is a brain teaser, the combat is soulslike, and you start with a blank slate. While the whole martial world is fighting to the death, you're still stuck dueling the starter-zone boss, loading a save for the twentieth time after another grievous defeat.
After finally beating the game, you, a lone-wolf save-scummer, stare pensively at the results screen and its less-than-20% completion rate.
So you've started New Game Plus.
This time, you're full of confidence.
Not only because you've memorized every boss's moves and combos after countless reloads.
And not because you've skimmed through the story once.
The important thing is, before starting a new game, you opened the Fenglingyueying trainer.
And maxed out your level, talents, and martial arts.
You enter the game with a sinister grin.
Objective: Complete the entire bestiary!
A short story. An invincible protagonist. She's already cheating, so cut her some slack.
A completely chaotic neutral player. She does whatever she likes.
There will definitely be one-sided crushes from original characters. The heroine is an unfeeling bestiary-completion machine who never reciprocates.
Theme: Live each day however you please
