[Updated every other day]
Shen Yu has always thought his new deskmate looks like a hamster.
He's lazy every day, either sleeping with his head down or slumped over his desk doing homework. Whenever Shen Yu tries to chat with him, his replies are always half-hearted.
His biggest hobby seems to be eating. The tiny bit of space on his desk is practically all taken up by snacks. During evening study sessions, Shen Yu often hears crunching from beside him.
Shen Yu, a well-rounded student excelling in academics, sports, moral character, and the arts, firmly believes he's cheerful and outgoing, loves sports, and has nothing in common with a silent study machine.
One day, Shen Yu goes to play basketball during dinner. Sweaty and arriving just in time for evening reading, he slips into the classroom and realizes he forgot to buy anything to eat. Resigned, he opens his Chinese textbook, planning to memorize a passage before going out to beg for food, when a bag of pineapple buns appears in front of him.
Huh? Shen Yu turns around to see his usually quiet deskmate looking at him earnestly. "Your stomach is growling."
As he recites the Twelve Chapters of the Analects, Shen Yu reconsiders and decides his deskmate is actually a pretty decent guy.
As they spend more time together, Shen Yu discovers the good side of his new deskmate. Once he sheds that unapproachable exterior, Xie Fangzhou's good qualities gradually show: he discusses problems with Shen Yu, plays online games with him, covers for him when he sneaks off to play basketball, and comes to his aid when he's run out of food.
It isn't until his heart gets thrown into disarray by his deskmate's smile once again that Shen Yu belatedly realizes he might not see him as just a good buddy. He might... actually like him.
A story of mutual secret crushes. Shen Yu x Xie Fangzhou, a straight-hearted top who falls for a guy x a cold on the outside, warm on the inside bottom.
An ordinary romance between ordinary people. The leads aren't perfect.
★ Content notes:
1. Dual perspectives, but the top's perspective is the main one in the early chapters. In the later chapters, the two perspectives are split evenly.
2. The top and bottom are each other's first, but the bottom had a crush on a girl in middle school. His feelings were like this: he's not gay, but the person he happened to like was a guy.
3. Neither lead is taller than 180 cm.
