Zhen Zhuzhu was the most beautiful woman across the thirty prefectures of the northern lands. Born into a powerful northern clan, she later married the young Jizhou military governor, who commanded a formidable army.

Before her wedding, she argued with her brother and accidentally fell from a building, losing her memories. She forgot her past, and everything about her husband.

Even so, her husband continued to love her as he always had. He repeatedly told her stories of their past love, making her believe without a doubt that she had once truly loved him.

Then an unexpected incident occurred, and her old memories returned. In the midst of overwhelming shock and terror, she suddenly realized:

The man who had shared her bed all these years, the husband who doted on and loved her, was none other than the terrifying brother from her memories.

Her husband was the very brother who had once forced himself on her.

Later, she did everything she could to escape the gilded cage her brother had so carefully built around her.

After he had deceived and possessed her for so many years, she resolved to flee, to escape his control and confinement.

Her journey seemed to go smoothly. She escaped the palace walls, Chang'an, and the capital region.

Someone told her they could take her to meet the first love her brother had once forced her to leave behind.

But on the night she thought she was about to see her first love, she entered the room full of anticipation, only to find him, now a defeated king, pinned beneath someone's foot. That person sat calmly in a grand armchair, looking up at her.

"Zhuzhu, will you come back with your brother and continue as the founding empress, or would you rather join him and become a subject of a fallen kingdom?"
