[Blunt, arrogant genius top + insecure, calculating top student bottom]
A low-key, emotionally tangled campus romance
Some of the information mentioned in the story may be inaccurate.
The story begins:
Jiang He is a genius, especially when it comes to physics, with a promising future ahead of her. Unfortunately, she likes girls.
After her last relationship was discovered, Jiang He was dumped in no time and made to transfer schools.
That was for the best. In this unfamiliar city, nobody knew about her past.
He Du is an illegitimate daughter who is overlooked. She once secretly swore that as soon as she became an adult, she would leave this awful place and never come back, until she met Jiang He.
When she was bullied, Jiang He stood up for her.
When she ran into trouble, Jiang He helped her sort it out.
Even when she was kicked out of her home, Jiang He took her in.
Jiang He had it all planned out: as soon as she graduated, she would bury herself in academic research and stay out of the world. But before that could happen, He Du had come to occupy too much of her life. She sensed something was wrong, but it was already too late.
"Jiang He, please take pity on me."
Oh well. She'd only gone and fallen for another girl.
If it was He Du, though, that wouldn't be so bad.
A preview of my upcoming novel, "Gu Wanwan's Secret Crush Diary"
A gentle top student who occasionally gets a little emotionally tangled + a student who's terrible at some subjects and so shy she suddenly blurts out her feelings
Short blurb:
Gu Wanwan has a secret: she's in love with her neighbor, Bai Jiu.
They grew up together, went to kindergarten, elementary school, and middle school together, and now they're about to start high school. Yet Gu Wanwan is still secretly in love with her, and has been for a year... then two... until the third year, when her best friend finally couldn't take it anymore and said, "Why don't you just pursue her already!"
Gu Wanwan chickened out. She didn't dare. Bai Jiu was so talented and popular. How could she possibly like her?
Her best friend casually pointed to a date: New Year's Day.
"How about that date?"
Gu Wanwan: "Okay."
She was determined to win Bai Jiu over before the New Year's bells rang!
Full blurb:
Gu Wanwan is a young person of the 21st century, a "good student" who can only keep her grades around the middle of her class thanks to exceptional performance in math, physics, chemistry, and other science subjects. She gets unbelievably lucky and receives an acceptance letter from First High School. But after celebrating too hard with her best friend and getting blackout drunk, she wakes up to discover that she's promised to do the impossible: win over her childhood sweetheart before the New Year.
Gu Wanwan: "...Can I even do that?"
Bai Jiu took two years off middle school and still managed to get into First High School. She's gentle and talented. Taking advantage of their childhood friendship, Gu Wanwan shamelessly follows close behind her. When Bai Jiu eats, Gu Wanwan serves her food. When Bai Jiu drinks, Gu Wanwan hands her a glass. She takes care of everything and makes sure everything goes smoothly. Just as it seems Bai Jiu's affection is about to reach its peak, Gu Wanwan takes the opportunity to confess, only to receive a "You're a good person" card.
"You're a wonderful person, but we're not right for each other."
Gu Wanwan is heartbroken, and just then a transfer student arrives in their class. Beautiful and bold, the transfer student pursues Gu Wanwan for half a month. Just as Gu Wanwan is figuring out how to accept her confession, someone pulls her around a corner. She looks up to see Bai Jiu, eyes red and voice low as she asks:
"Didn't you promise you'd love me forever?"
Theme: Find the light that belongs to you in the darkness.
