Someone presumptuously mistook the recorders chosen by Them for masters who could command Them, and so Their gaze fell upon Yokohama.
Mori Ogai, stripped of everything, including his memories, awakens in one story after another. There he meets NPCs who guide him along, and as a reward for entertaining Them, what he cherishes is returned to him piece by piece.
When he receives the first piece, Mori Ogai doesn't understand why he could love a blue-black abandoned building. A being with an inhuman form and an ominous glow approaches him, but what it offers is a bloodstained hat.
A snake crawls onto Mori Ogai's hand, and an alluring voice speaks: You can say no, if you don't want it.
