An international exchange student meets a teenage idol.
Lights, cameras, reflectors, and a crowd of staff surrounded the girl.
Wearing a uniform skirt, she sat on the horizontal bar beneath the blazing summer sun, gazing into the distance.
Tu Xiao leaned over the balcony. "Wow, she's so pretty."
His classmate replied, "Of course! You're new here, so you don't know. Lin Chuqiao is a teenage idol."
"A celebrity," Tu Xiao thought. She looked so hard to approach.
In class, Tu Xiao discovered that he and Lin Chuqiao were desk mates.
But she was aloof, quiet, and always falling asleep. She barely acknowledged him.
A love letter was tucked inside Tu Xiao's book, with Lin Chuqiao's name written at the end.
Tu Xiao thought it was strange. How could someone like him and still roll her eyes at him?
He only found out later that the day he received the letter had been April Fools' Day.
A famous director invited Lin Chuqiao to star in a youth film. Along the way, he met Tu Xiao and was instantly captivated, unable to stop thinking about him.
The director insisted that Tu Xiao play the male lead, but Tu Xiao refused.
With the male lead still undecided, filming was delayed indefinitely.
For the first time, Lin Chuqiao took the initiative to call Tu Xiao. "This movie means a lot to me. I hope you'll take part."
Tu Xiao laughed nonchalantly. "Call me Dad, and I'll say yes."
