A heartless web-novel author who leaves as soon as she's done * A resentful husband who's waited for years, and a guesthouse owner

With her hair sticking up like a bird's nest and misery written all over her face, Yan Qing sat in a library chair. The chair beside her suddenly let out a loud screech.
Snapped back to reality, she looked up blankly. The female student who had just stood up blushed scarlet. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to bother you."
Seeing Yan Qing turn back to stare at the computer in front of her, she hesitated for a moment, then reminded her quietly, "It's ten o'clock. The library is closing."
Zhou Mingshu Fu didn't even care that her face mask had slipped. She cried out, "You sat in the library for ten hours? And still couldn't think of an opening?"
The person on the other end of the screen looked like she was about to cry. Her voice was muffled. "Mm."
After taking a shower, Yan Qing lay in bed flipping through the three books she'd already published.
Why couldn't she write a single word anymore?
Looking at her best friend's vacant stare, which made her look ten years older, Zhou Mingshu caught sight of the computer out of the corner of her eye. Her eyes lit up.
Half a year later, Yan Qing began posting her new novel. Her eager fans swarmed in, and the comment section was instantly flooded.
The computer in the study was on. Four words on the screen, "Uninstall successful," waited for someone to click the X.

Ming Xu was fed up with his friend pestering him and answered dismissively, "Fine, fine."
"You agreed? I'll go tell her right now."
Looking at the call he'd just ended, he tapped open the chat window. Before he'd finished typing, a message came from the other person.
[Your little apprentice is online. Hurry up, everyone's waiting for you.]
Ming Xu deleted the unfinished message and sighed helplessly.
[I never agreed to this.]
The other person kept showing as typing, but no message came through for ages.
He had no choice but to turn on his computer and reject them in person. He entered the voice chat and was just about to scold his friend when a clear voice called out to him.
"Hello, Master."
Looking at the empty master-apprentice list, Ming Xu took a deep breath. The veins stood out on the hand gripping his mouse.
If he hadn't occasionally heard that name from his friends, Ming Xu might have thought he'd imagined it all.
He gave a self-deprecating laugh. "She left without a second thought."
