Lin Yan has been an ordinary girl all her life, timid and introverted.
But in the year before she graduated from college, she unexpectedly met Zhao Tuo. It was like opening Pandora's box, and there was no turning back.
She fell in love with Zhao Tuo in no time, then raced through the whole package: dating, marriage, and children.
Lin Yan's classmates and friends all say she's changed since she started dating. She's become completely love-struck, even quitting her job for a man!
Her parents also think she's gone too far. She married a man from another province, so far away, and listens to everything he says.
All her family and friends earnestly tell Lin Yan, "You need to stand up for yourself, or else..."
Lin Yan just smiles softly, like a little bun anyone can squeeze and roll as they please.
Her loved ones are so frustrated with her they nearly faint.
-
Lin Yan's daughter, nicknamed Nuonuo, is an innocent, adorable little girl, so sweet and soft that everyone wants to tease her.
The adults often ask her, "Who's the boss at home?"
Nuonuo always answers sweetly, "Daddy!"
"Does everyone have to listen to Daddy? Even Mommy?"
"Yes!"
The adults privately sigh over Lin Yan's pitiful life as a housewife, then generously give Nuonuo a gift.
They say that over time, children may look down on their mothers for being housewives and grow fonder of their fathers.
Nuonuo happily accepts the gift, then runs back to Lin Yan's arms and whispers to her, "Mommy, I know you're actually the most amazing person in our family. Please take me with you wherever you go from now on. Nuonuo loves you the most!"
Lin Yan affectionately strokes her daughter's hair and smiles gently. From a distance, they look like an ordinary scene of a meek housewife with her child.
"Nothing in the world is softer and weaker than water, yet nothing is better at overcoming the hard and strong. The soft overcomes the hard, and the weak overcomes the strong. Everyone knows this, yet no one puts it into practice. This is why I know the benefits of non-action." - Laozi, Tao Te Ching
P.S. 1. The female lead has a golden finger. She won't really suffer too much; I dote on my female lead.
2. A short, sweet, satisfying story. Just for a bit of fun, planned to be about ten thousand characters. I wrote it before submitting that other book for signing. Once I finish The Brocade Guard, I'll keep updating this one. (I feel like I'm talking to myself since no one's reading? Never mind, moving on.) The Love-Struck One is about halfway updated.
Theme: The soft can overcome the strong
